4 Ways to love Fathers!

God calls us to love others like he loves us. This weekend is Fathers Day! We take this 1 time a year and celebrate fathers. Well I believe we should love our fathers all year round. So how can we love our fathers? How about I give you 4 ideas to love your fathers.


Time We can love our fathers by spending time with them. How do you spend time with our fathers. We can spend time by

1.  Fishing - Maybe this is something your father enjoys to do, so why not spend some time at his favorite fishing hole.
2. Movies - My dad loves movies so we can spend time watching his favorite movies. Where I am from we have a few chooses, we have the theatre, the drive in, or I can even just go to house and watch his favorite movie.
3. Cooking / Grilling out / Bonfires - How about spending time outside grilling out, or having a picnic outside, or even spending time around a bonfire. I think this sounds like fun for not just your father but also for you! 

Advice - How about asking your father for advice? Everybody has moments when they don't know what they are going. Why not ask for your father's advice? Sometimes my dad has been known to give me advice, even when I didn't ask for it. I can show both love and respect him by listening to his advice.

Cook for Him -  This kind of goes with spending time with him, but cooking really is a great way to show your father that you love him. I show my dad that I love him by cooking dad's favorite meal on occasions, for his birthday or fathers day I ask him what he wants to eat and then I do what I can to make sure he gets it. I mean I was told the best way to a man's heart is through his stomach.

It doesn't always have to be cooking for him. For his birthday he wanted steak, so what did I do, I ordered dinner from Applebee's for him, my mom and my sister. It really was a great dinner, he felt loved when we had dinner that night. It could also be making his favorite dessert or cookies. You get the idea right?

Show you've been listening - Another way to show that you love your father is to show you have been listening to him. He needs a new fishing pole, or battery for the lawn mower. Be practical and buy it for him. My dad loves to read, so maybe a new book would be a great gift for him.
